Maslenitsa

My digital illustration of Maslenitsa - an old pagan event where a gigantic hay doll is dressed up just to be burned to the crisp, to scare away winter and welcome spring. Also lots and lots of buttery crepes that symbolise the sun - something you start really missing during the long dark winter days of the north-east.
