The Mountain Cradle

A painting I had been working on while staying in a remote mountain cabin in Araucania, Chile during an art residency with Valley of the Possible. At nights the darkness and cold would swallow everything around in the valley, and my cosy little cabin was the only beam of light and warmth in that unforgiving abyss surrounding it, hugging it, letting it rest until the sun went up in the morning once again. 

The original is watercolor on tinted aquarelle paper. 55.8cm x 35.7cm.
